A Mouse Left Dying

My mouse is beginning it's final death rattle I think. It is a Logitech optical, pretty basic, and it has served me well for a number of years now but it is starting to jump around randomly. It will either leap across the screen inexplicably or continue on when I have stopped moving. Sometimes this has the result of triggering my expose hot corners and sending windows flying.
I am also beginning to really notice the ergonomics of it, or rather the lack of. It is increasingly painful to use, that in conjunction with the old keyboard I'm using that requires one to straight up slam the fucking keys while typing and we are not looking at a good situation for my hands and fingers.
I'd like to get a Logitech MX400 Laser. I have one of those at work and they are real nice. Very comfortable to use, very precise, and oh so sexy.

New
You know who makes a pretty solid mouse? Apple. Yes, seems like nobody these days likes the single button mouse but those Apple pro opticals that came with new Macs before the Mighty Mouse were good performers. The damn things work on carpet! Yes, I know this from first-hand experience.
