Fuck you spambots!
Saturday, September 8th, 2007

At some point during the last couple weeks, some bots found my blog and started leaving spam on my Happy Birthday Ryan entry. At first it was a post a day and of course I would delete them but naturally it got progressively worse.

It was not the worst I have seen but it still is a damn inconvenience. However, with the help of my friend Joe Song I have been able to keep them at bay for a few days now. I was originally going to put a captcha in the comment form but Joe made a good point in that he does not like to put the work on the visitor on account of some shitty bots.

So he turned me on to a very simple, yet so far very effective method to keep them out. So my hat is off to Joe. Thank you Joe for your help, it was a huge time saver.

Spammers suck. I damn you all.

UPDATE:

I am happy to say that my blog is STILL spam free after all this time. Hell yeah! I STILL damn spammers to hell though.

I am a designer and web developer, a student of many things. Music, art, writing, you name it I will probably try it and probably do it pretty well. I graduated, with honors, in June 2007 from the Art Institutes International Minnesota with my Bachelor's degree in Interactive Media Design. I am now just going to move on into my career and continue to learn new things and hopefully pass what I have learned on to others.
